Ocean Browser are a Dunedin based online learning firm who have developed OB3, a web app for online academic study. OB3 allows both students and teachers to engage and develop media rich study documents. The brief of this project was to work on specific elements of visual communication design for OB3, translating key words and concepts into visual material to communicate what the technology can do in the context of teaching and learning. Knowledge can be illustrated by stars developing over time to become more complex shapes. Star gazing too, represents the idea of learning, as you often need to look hard to recognise a particular shape created by a constellation in the sky. Learning and teaching can also be visually articultated by the idea of navigation via the stars. The people who navigated to Aotearoa were looking for new land, new knowledge and new life. Learning is a lifelong journey.
